Guidance in the Uncertainty

Most of us would like to sit down and have a heart to heart talk with God. Perhaps He could tell us the exact plan that He has for our lives. Or maybe He could lay it all out in black and white; this would certainly allow us to bypass the pitfalls along the way.
Why doesn’t He mark out a path so we will know exactly what lies ahead? Well it doesn’t work that way. God doesn’t lead us by making the path clear and removing the pitfalls of life. Nor does He provide us with an outline of directions; instead, He gives us just enough direction to take one step at a time while trusting Him along the way.
In Psalms 133: 119: David asks God to, “Order my steps in your word.” In this verse, David is asking God to guide him as he walks through life. He realized that without God’s guidance his own plan was apt to fail.
My friend, you may be tempted to “jump the gun” and plan out your own path. But you must learn to wait on God and let Him lead the way. He knows the very details of your life and He knows the outcome of everything that will take place. Regardless of how confusing things may seem, remember that your Heavenly Father has already mapped out your path. He has a plan to use every circumstance that you encounter to draw you into a deeper and more personal relationship with Him.
Please be encouraged as you meditate on the following scriptures. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11).
“Trust the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
