Emmaus Road set to perform

The singing group Emmaus Road will perform at 6 p.m. June 23 at the Cameron Gospel Lighthouse Church, 15519 Hill St. in Cameron. Anyone is invited.

Church to host VBS sports camp

Haven Heights Baptist Church will host a free vacation Bible school sports camp for children in kindergarten through fifth grade from 6:15-8:15 p.m. June 24-28 at the church, 7701 U.S. 271 in Fort Smith. There will be a rotation of two sports and a Bible class each evening. Sports include volleyball, basketball, gaga ball, four-person tug of war, dodge ball and various relays. Snacks will be provided.

There will be a family night meal at 6 p.m. June 28, followed by an awards ceremony and a sports camp video of the week.

Evangelism workshop, revival slated

Prayers That Avail Ministries will sponsor an evangelism workshop from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. June 29 and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 30 at Christ For the World Church, 4401 Windsor Drive in Fort Smith. The theme for the event will be "Salvation is the answer to the cry in the streets," and guest speakers include Theressa McConnell and Bertha Mitchell. Registration is free the day of the event, a continental breakfast is included, and box lunches will be available for $5 per person each day. A love offering will be collected.

The weekend event will continue with a free community revival at 7 p.m. July 1-2 at Hargroves private park, 1715 N. 13th St. in Fort Smith. Mitchell and McConnell will be joined by Anitta Smith.

Fort Smith Seventh-day Adventist Church will hold a reading clinic for beginners and young elementary children from 6-8 p.m. July 10 and 17 at the church gymnasium, 2000 Louisville in Fort Smith. The classes will be based on “At Last! A Reading Method For Every Child!” by Mary Pecci, M.Ed. Parents also will learn how to reinforce all the information from the class.
