Charlie Doss Eason, 91, of Arkadelphia, died Monday, in Court Yard Gardens Nursing Center.
He was born Oct. 14, 1917, in Arkadelphia in the Mt. Morriah Community, son of Louis Dossand Magaline McCauley Eason.
He was a member of the Mt. Morriah Missionary Baptist Church. He attended the Mt. Morriah Elementary School.  He enlisted in the United States Army at Camp Robinson. His military occupational specialty was Hatch Force and he was a qualified Rifle Marksman. His tour of duty included Southern France, Rome-Arno Rhineland, and World War II. During his tour of duty he received several decorations, medals, badges, citations, and campaign ribbons they included: EAME Theater Ribbon, three Bronze Service Stars, Good Conduct Medal, American Service Defense Medal, American Theater Ribbon, World War II Victory Ribbon and the AP Theater Ribbon. He received an honorable discharge on Dec. 5, 1945.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Gilberta Smith Eason; siblings, Emerson Eason, Willie Mac Eason, Leather Smith, Sarah Johnson, Lillie Eason, Mary Pride and Roberta Alexander and two grandchildren Tracie Eason and Carl Johnson, Jr.
He is survived by his children, Prince Lee Eason of Malvern, Doss A. Eason of Hot Springs, Joe Ed Eason of Beirne, Fannie Horton, Tracy Eason and Margaret Johnson, all of Arkadelphia;  23 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was held on Friday, Sept. 18, at 11 a.m. in Mt. Morriah Missionary Baptist Church, where Rev. Vernon Moody, Sr., is the pastor and Rev. J. L. Newborn officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery by Williams Funeral Home, Inc.
The visitation was at the funeral home from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. with family hour 6 p.m.-7 p.m. in Greater Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Send condolences to
