Senator Percy Malone’s condition has reportedly taken a serious turn for the worse after an accident Tuesday.
Early reports were that Malone had suffered a broken leg and that the rest of his injuries were minor. Wednesday morning at press time, Malone was awaiting surgery and was expected to make a full recovery. Indications from family friends this morning were that complications had arisen, apparently during the surgery. Malone remained in the hospital today in intensive care.
The accident occurred just over the Hot Spring County line Tuesday evening. According to Arkansas State Police, Malone was alone when his vehicle made “minor contact” with an 18-wheeler. Malone’s car careened off the road and struck a tree.
