HORATIO - The Gurdon Go-Devils season came to an end on Thursday afternoon at the 7-3A District Tournament when Genoa Central beat them 10-0.
Genoa Central scored one run in the bottom of the first inning and added five more runs in the second and four in the third inning to end the game in the bottom of the fifth.
The Go-Devils went down in order in the first two innings until Garret Orsburn got a base hit to center field to start the top of the third inning.
Orsburn moved to second on a wild pitch and Austin Taylor put down a sacrifice bunt to get him over to third base. A strike out and a ground out to third base ended the Gurdon threat.
Reid Ledbetter was hit by a pitch in the fourth inning with two outs, but was out at second when Justiss Patterson hit into a fielder’s choice.
After Genoa Central added four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to go up 10-0, a strike out, a grounder to short and a strike out ended the game.
Gurdon baseball finished the 2017 season 0-13.

Lady Go-Devils end regular season
GURDON - The Gurdon Lady Go-Devils ended their regular season with a 3-1 loss at Dierks and a 10-0 loss to Bauxite.
