Lorene Martin Foster 93, of Prescott, passed away Feb. 13, 2010, at the home of her daughter in Texarkana.
She was born February 4, 1917 in Willisville, to the late Bill and Effie Mae Martin.
She was co-owner of Fosters Department Store and a member of the Prescott First United Methodist Church. She loved singing in the church choir and also loved reading and gardening.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Philip Foster; a sister, Audrey Fore and two brothers, J.T. Martin and Avon Martin.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Don Howell of Texarkana; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Cindy Foster of Longview, Texas and Martin and Paula Foster of Perry, Okla.; two sisters, Afton Butler of Texarkana, Texas and Merlene Hohman of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Watson Martin of Fort Worth, Texas; one brother-in-law, Herbert Fore of Willisville; one sister-in-law, Shirley Martin of Fort Worth, Texas; eight grandchildren, Donnie Howell, Suzann Howell, Lisa Singleton, Jon Howell, Sarah Hanafin, John David Foster, Jami Lander and Philip Foster; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Prescott library or to Holly Springs Cemetery Fund, c/o B.R. Martin, 2023 Nevada 17, Rosston, Arkansas 71858-8203.
Visitation was Monday, Feb. 15, between the hours of 5-8 p.m. at the Pharr Funeral Home of Prescott.
The funeral service was Tuesday, Feb. 16, at 2 p.m. in the Pharr Funeral Home of Prescott Chapel with Rev. Carlton Cross officiating, interment to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope, under the direction of Pharr Funeral Home of Prescott.
