Mrs. Mary Jo Arnold, 82, of Texarkana, formerly of Prescott, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas.
She was born on Nov. 4, 1927, in Hollywood, Pike County, to Lonnie and Lena Jacobs Jester. She was a retired cosmetologist and a Baptist and attended the Cathedral Heights Church of the Nazarene in Texarkana and a member of the Prescott Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Arnold and two brothers, Jimmy and Grady Jester.
Her survivors include two sons, Wayne Arnold and Judy of Texarkana and Steve Arnold and Glenda of Mena; one daughter, Charlotte Jewell and Danny of Texarkana; one sister, Francille Kirskey and Bill of Amity; one step-brother, Roe Carson of Mena; seven grandchildren, Ashley Arnold, Brett Berry, Allen, Benton, Steven and Ty Arnold and Tiffany Prince; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 10, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel of Prescott, with Rev. John Hobson officiating. The burial was in DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott. The arrangements were by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
Family received friends, Saturday, Jan. 9, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
