Helen Frances Barham was born Nov. 9, 1928, in Prescott, to William and Lucille Hardison Jones. She died Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, in Collinsville, Okla., at the age of 81 years.
She was reared and educated in Prescott and graduated with the Prescott High School Class of 1947. She was married May 24, 1947, at Prescott to Jack Bryce Barham. She spent most of her working life as a homemaker and caring for her family. They had made their home in Owasso since 1990. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Owasso. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including collecting and refinishing antiques. She was also an excellent seamstress in making dresses.
Loving family members include, three sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Jerrie Barham of Owasso, Okla., Keith and Pam Barham of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Zane and Tammie Barham, of Katy, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Marla and Steven LaVal of Lebanon, Mo.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one brother, and her husband, Jack Barham.
Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, at Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso. The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Ben Killion officiating. Serving as casket bearers were Bryan Morris, Daniel Barham, Bryce LaVal, Gary Thompson, Bob LaVal, and Drew Barham. Committal services and interment followed at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
