Ralph Austin Easley Sr., age 69, of Gurdon, passed from this life on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, at his home. He was born on March 11, 1940, in Big Rock, the son of the late Clarence Homer and Ida Bell Ellis Easley. Ralph was a retired truck driver and a Baptist. Ralph was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Louise Easley, his brother, Clarence Ralph Easley, and his sister, Peggy Warren.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Ellen Liles Easley, three daughters, Linda Susan Lamb of Dallas, Texas; Sherry Ray of Alexander and Ida Lucinda Robins of Beirne; two sons, Ralph Austin Easley of Gurdon and Wayne Austin Easley of Nashville; four sisters, Ruby Deaton of Bismarck, Brenda Hammonds, Liz Easley and Rita Easley all of Gurdon; two brothers, Homer Wayne Easley of Cleburn, Texas, and Bobby Easley of Camden, 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at Welch Funeral Home with Rev. Terry LeMay officiating. Interment will be in Easley Cemetery. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Wayne Easley, Ralph Easley Jr., Stephen Arthur, Joseph Arthur, Craig Cox and Sam Leviwitz.
