George Clifton Smith, 69, of Hot Springs, died Monday, June 21, 2010.
Born on March 31, 1941, in Sugar Grove, the son of Frank G. Smith and Mable E. Buffington Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Donna Schweitzer; and a precious grandson, J.J. Smith.
He was Baptist in his faith, a U.S. Army veteran and was employed for many years with Reynolds Aluminum. He was also an avid outdoorsman.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James and Cindy Smith of Delight; one daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Mike Loy of Caddo Valley; one brother, Bill Smith of Friendship; three grandchildren, Carmen Newman of St. Louis, Missouri, Jessica Smith of Nashville, Tennessee and Wayland Smith of Friendship; three great-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Gay Sacramone of Hot Springs; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
