Tressie Mae Leeper, 81, of Okolona, died Monday, May 31, 2010, in Baptist Health Medical Center, Arkadelphia. She was born Dec. 19, 1928, in Okolona, daughter of Willis and Mattie Mae Jones Johnson.
She was a graduate of Roosevelt Schools in Okolona, and was a long time employee of Murfreesboro Nursing Center. She was member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Annie J. Leeper, one brother, Willie Ray Johnson and one granddaughter, Kimberly L. Leeper.
She will forever be remembered by her children, Rae Evelyn Adams of Malvern, Lois J. Anderson, Jonnie E. Leeper, Howard Leeper and John Leeper, all of Okolona, Mary Leeper and Dennis Leeper of Los Angeles, Ardis Leeper of Germany, and Danny Leeper of Seattle, Wash.; two sisters, Mae Sue Williams of Okolona and Arzola Cook of Blytheville; 24 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 16 great- great-grandchildren.
Ms. Leeper will lie in state in the funeral home on Friday, June 4, noon - 7p.m., with the family receiving friends 6 - 7p.m.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 5, at 2 p.m. in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Rufus R. Hatley officiating.
The committal service and final resting place will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
