Ray Needham, 75, of Ozark died Tuesday, April 25, 2018, at his home. He was born in Scranton on Sept. 24, 1942, to Buford Guy and Gurtha Delilah Whitecotton Needham. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Vivian Taylor; a brother, O.J. Bud Needham; and a grandson, Kaleb Needham. He retired from Hanover Compression and was a certified grease monkey, jack-of-all-trades, avid car buff (if it didn’t run or was broken, he could fix it), loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and member of Johnson County Car and Truck Club where he loved to show or talk about his beloved '55 Chevy, which he had for 43 years and lovingly restored.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Lancaster Needham of Ozark; three sons, Doug Needham and wife Kim of Woodward, Okla., Danny Needham of Scranton and Robbie Needham and wife Alicia of Clarksville; one daughter, Jelaine Davis of Little Rock; a stepdaughter, Rita Wigington; a stepson, Paul and wife Christine Fisher of Mulberry; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 Commercial St., Ozark.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Shaffer Funeral Home with Brother Herb Tilley officiating and burial at Rankin Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Pridgen, Dwight Peters, Doug Olson, Greg Cobb, Dennis Rood and John Hunt.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Johnson County Car and Truck Club.
