Darlene Jesse (Gee) Barger passed away May 1, 2017

Darlene Jesse (Gee) Barger was born 3/20/27 in Burley City, Idaho, and died May 1, 2017 in Heber Springs, Arkansas. She was the oldest of four children born to Letho and Evelyn (Brower) Gee. Her siblings are; Delores Gee (deceased), Daryl Gee, and Carolyn Gee Eischens.

While working in a restaurant in Idaho Falls, Idaho, she met a guy from Arkansas, Harvey Barger. Harvey and some other men from Arkansas had gone to -Idaho to work in the potato harvest. They were married 11/28/1946 in Dillion, Montana. After spending some time in Arkansas, and following the births of their daughters, Sheryl Ann, and Gayla Mae, the family moved to Grants Pass, Oregon so that Harvey could work in the timber industry. Two sons, Harvey "Kent" and Terry Lynn were born in Grants Pass.

In 1959, the family moved back to Arkansas and settled in the Quitman area. Darlene rarely saw her family in Idaho, often going several years without seeing her parents or siblings. She often spoke lovingly about Idaho, and the beautiful Teton Mountains. Darlene worked several jobs including Glove Factory, Shirt Factory, and Gibsons Store. The family was poor, but enjoyed a huge extended family with the Bargers. Sports became a huge part of their lives, both basketball and baseball.

Darlene always put her children's needs before her own. No matter the need, she always found a way to meet her children's needs and many wants. She was loved and respected not only by her family, but also by many friends. The family recently had a huge celebration for Darlene's 90th birthday Saturday 25th, 2017.

Survivors include her children, Sheryl Finn (Joe) of Oklahoma City, Gayla Chapman (Frank) of Greenbrier, Kent Barger (Karen) of Romance, and Terry Barger (Karen) of Rosebud; grandchildren, Jody, Eric (deceased) and Nathan Finn (Amber), Ashley Anglea (Ben), Amanda Chapman, Amy Smith (Jade), Kelly Peebles (Shawn), Taryn Barger, and Whitney Ashby (Clayton). 15 great-grandchildren also survive her, as well as her brother, Daryl Gee (Utah), and sister, Carolyn Gee Eischens (California).
