An Amity man died and another was injured in a three-vehicle accident early Wednesday.
Todd Palmer, 21, of 115 Fendley Road, Amity, was driving a 2005 Dodge pickup westbound on Highway 70 near the Pearcy Post Office in Garland County when he crossed the centerline at about 4:15 a.m., according to a report filed by Trooper James W. Avant of the Arkansas State Police.
As Palmer crossed the centerline, his vehicle sideswiped an eastbound 1995 Toyota pickup, driven by Lue Chang, 48, of 399 Huggins Road, Amity.
Palmer’s vehicle continued west in the eastbound lane, colliding with a Freightliner semi-truck headed east. Kenneth Mullins, also of Amity and driver of the Freightliner, was reportedly not injured.
According to the report, Palmer was not wearing a seat belt. Chang, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Hot Springs for injuries. Information from St. Joseph this morning indicated that Chang had been released from the hospital.
