Four Gurdon men have been arrested in a home invasion that left the victim bound in duct tape, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday.
In custody at the Clark County Detention Center are Brian Raynard Green, 28, Tyrone Anthony Marks, 35, Oscar Charles Willingham and Obryan Deshae Bell, 21.
Public records at the jail show that all four men are facing charges of attempted capital murder, aggravated residential burglary, kidnapping and theft of property. They were formally arraigned Thursday afternoon, and their bonds were set at $250,000 each.
Deputies were called Tuesday about 2 a.m. to a home on Highway 128 in Okolona, where the victim, described as an elderly woman, had reportedly been robbed. The sheriff’s office did not identify the victim, who did not suffer any life-threatening injuries, according to Sheriff Jason Watson.
Upon deputies’ arrival, the victim was found with duct tape around both hands and feet, and was “very shaken up but unharmed,” Watson said.
Watson said a sheriff’s deputy was in the Gurdon area around the time of the incident doing property checks when dispatchers announced the 911 call. As the deputy drove on Highway 182 toward the residence, he saw a vehicle driving toward Gurdon and notified the Gurdon Police Department of the situation, Watson said.
According to Watson, a Gurdon police officer made a traffic stop on the vehicle the deputy had seen and identified everyone in the car — Green, Marks, Willingham and Bell. The men were taken into custody later that morning.
The sheriff’s office has remained reluctant to give many details about the incident, citing the ongoing investigation. Officials did, however, say that the men made off with an undisclosed amount of personal property, some of which has been recovered.
The victim was home alone when the incident occurred, Watson said.
