He Saw the Best in You!
What do you see when you look in the mirror?
Do you see failure and disappointment, or do you see success and satisfaction?
Many Christians tend to struggle with who they are and the way others may view them. However, we are not defined by the world’s perspective, but we are defined by who God says we are and we must start seeing ourselves through His eyes.
Picture David when he was a young shepherd boy. Many knew him as the son of Jesse, just an ordinary and ruddy-faced boy. But God saw a brave and courageous young man who later became Israel’s greatest King.
What about Moses?
He was an 80 year old man, verbally impaired, and had already past the average life span for his generation. Most would ask - Is he the right man for the job?
Isn’t he too old to accomplish anything?
But what did God see?
God saw a mild and meek leader who became the deliverer of His people.
Gideon saw himself as the least in the tribe of Manasseh, but God saw a mighty man of valor. Jeremiah looked at himself young and slow in speech, but God saw a great prophet for the nations.
Have you ever considered that God isn’t looking for impressive people who got it all together?
Ultimately, He’s looking for someone like you. So I admonish you—to look up—look forward—start viewing yourself as God sees you.
He has fashioned you in His very own image, and when He created you and knitted you together inside your mother’s womb, He saw the best in you!
