A man was killed in Wednesday afternoon when his motorcycle crossed the median and collided with a pickup in Franklin County.
The man, whose name was not released on Wednesday, collided with a Ford F-350 traveling west on U.S. 64 near Hickory Ridge around 4:30 p.m. Prior to being struck, the man, who was traveling east on the highway, crossed the median, County Sheriff Anthony Boen said.
Boen said witnesses have told sheriff's officials that the man may have crossed the median as a result of his motorcycle hydroplaning.
Highway traffic was backed up for 20-30 minutes following the wreck, Boen said. He said deputies were still working the scene around 5:10 p.m. Wednesday.
