On Saturday, from 4:30 -7 p.m., Hot Springs Village American Legion Post 123 will sponsor its eighth annual chili dinner in the Fellowship Hall, Faith Lutheran Church, 1196 DeSoto Blvd. (approximately one mile east of Woodlands Auditorium).
Beef and chicken varieties of chili will be available. Dinner includes beverages and several choices of desserts. Tickets are $10 each, children 10 and under are $5.
The chili dinner is a fundraiser for local American Legion veterans, youth and Americanism programs.  Youth programs include sponsorship of the Knights, the local American Legion Baseball Team, which plays its home games at the Cedar Mountain Boys and Girls Club Field, about two miles north of the West Gate on Highway 7, near Home Plate Café.
Post 123 also sponsors students from the three local high schools to Boys State and Girls State at the University of Central Arkansas, as well as student-athlete scholarships.
Make an evening of it.  Come to dinner at Faith Lutheran Church and then drive about a mile to Woodlands Auditorium to see Fun City Barbershop Chorus present “The Cigar Box Men.” Showtime is 7:30 p.m.
For more information and advance tickets for the chili dinner, call 922-6287 or contact a member of American Legion Post No. 123.
