Clark County experienced a slight increase its unemployment rate for the month of December.
According to statistics provided by the Arkansas Department of Workforce, the unemployment rate for Clark County for the month of December was 3.6 percent. The unemployment rate was 3.4 percent for November and 3.5 percent for October.
Clark County had a civilian labor force of 9.619 for December. The labor force was 9,726 for November and 9,844 for October.
Of the December labor force, 9,273 people were employed, while 346 people were unemployed. A civilian labor force of 9,559 and an unemployment rate of 4.0 percent was reported for December 2016.

• Dallas County’s unemployment rate dropped slightly from 4.0 percent in October and November to 3.9 percent in December.
• Garland County's unemployment rate increased slightly from 3.6 percent in November to 3.9 percent in December. An unemployment rate of 3.5 percent was reported for October.
• Hempstead County reported an unemployment rate of 3.3 percent. The December percentage is up from 3.0 percent in November and October.
• Hot Spring County had an unemployment rate of 3.5 percent. An unemployment rate of 3.3 percent was reported for November and October.
• Montgomery County's unemployment rate climbed from 3.3 percent in November to 5.1 percent in December. An unemployment rate of 4.3 percent was reported in October.

Preliminary statistics (not seasonally adjusted) for the state of Arkansas showed there were 48,860 people unemployed out of a civilian labor force of 1,341,053 for an unemployment rate of 3.6 percent.
The percentage is up slightly from 3.3 percent in November and 3.2 percent in October.
Seasonally adjusted statistics for the state show there were 50,196 people unemployed out of a labor force of 1,362,173 for an unemployment rate of 3.7 percent. The percentage is identical to November’s and up slightly from 3.6 percent in October.
The national unemployment rate remained unchanged at 3.9 percent from October to December.
