The Gurdon Business Center hosted an interesting and informative seminar presented by Henderson State University Small Business and Technology Development Center on Friday. Entrepreneurs from Gurdon, Blevins, Curtis, Arkadelphia, Mena and even Denton, Texas, attended the free class hosted by the City of Gurdon and Southern Bancorp. We are making some good friends with very interesting businesses and business ideas. These participants will develop their goals with in depth free information during one on one counseling with HSU SBTDC. Their staff will prepare detailed information specific to their needs and clientele. It is truly amazing.
Our next free seminar is Saturday, March 10, from 10 to 12:30. This informal Gurdon mixer for the area's prospective and current small business owners will be presented by Francis Newsome from Southern Community Partners and will feature door prizes and lunch from Allen's Barbeque. Let me know if you would like to attend (870) 406-1396.
The Market On Main was hopping on Saturday and Sunday. There were two events on Sunday and another on Saturday. Baby showers, birthday and Superbowl parties, The Market on Main rents for $15 an hour and easily seats 65 with the capability for many more. It's interesting to note that a diverse group of people aged 3 to 84 attended these weekend events.
