The Secret Weapon
When life is at its best, trusting in God doesn’t seem like such a difficult task – But it’s when we encounter those battles in which we see no end.
We find ourselves unable to comprehend or understand what is happening. Then the enemy comes along and throws doubt into our mind, causing us to question our God. We feel there’s only a matter of time before we are defeated, so out of fear what else are we to do except fight our own battle.
However, I discovered in the word of God that He never meant for us to fight our own battles. Our battles are much greater than our self-sufficiency, that’s why He provided us with the secret weapon, which is called “prayer.”
A perfect example is found in II Chronicles 20 when two different armies were coming against Jehoshaphat, the King of Judah. Jehoshaphat feared and he readily admits that they don’t know what to do, except turn back to God. So the king proclaimed a fast and led the people in prayer.
He prayed: “O our God, will you not execute judgment on them? for we are powerless against this great army that is coming against us.” We do not know what to do but our eyes are on you” (v12).
Then God told the king and his people: “Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great army; for the battle is not yours, but God’s” (v15b).
My friend, oppositions will come, people will come against you and circumstances will overwhelm you.
Yet, when these inevitable things happen, don’t try to fight your own battle, instead use your secret weapon. It has been proven time and time again that when you pray and seek God, He will fight on your behalf in ways you cannot fathom!
