Rufus “Bud” Rogers, age 90, of Caney passed away Saturday January 27, 2018 at his home.
He was born January 27, 1928 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas the son of Rufus and Gracie McAnnaly Rogers. He was a truck driver for C.J. Horner, and Roland Ready Mix. He was a member of the Pine Meadow Hunting Club, loved fishing, and gardening and was a member and past deacon of the North Malvern Assembly of God Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Wanda Easthom, brothers, Henry, Winston, Thomas and John Rogers, sisters, Ophelia and Clara Mae.
Survivors are his wife of 67 years to whom he married April 8, 1950, Betty Jo Ferguson Rogers, sons, Jimmy Rogers (Sandy) and Darrell Rogers (Judy) all of Caney, sister Erma Burnett of Grandview, Texas, seven grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 31, 2018, from 12:30-2 p.m. at North Malvern Assembly of God Church.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at North Malvern Assembly of God Church with Reverends Keith Pennington and Roger Wall officiating. Burial will follow in Caney Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ricky, Jack, and Larry Wright, D.J. Graham, Kirt Scrivner and David Rogers.
Honorary pallbearer is Bob Watson and Michael Daniels.
