There’s Nothing like the Real Thing
When the storms of life come they can threaten our inner peace and they can interrupt our emotional equilibrium. Then we start searching for ways to regain the peace we’ve lost, and too often we end up turning to the things the world has to offer.
As you well know, the world offers a peace that is not real; it offers an imitation of what God has. Its peace is short-lived. It is elusive and it is hard to hold on to. Why is this so? - Because God never intended for us to find peace outside of Him. Without Him, we worry and fret, but with Him, He calms our troubled hearts and He put our minds to ease.
My friend, you don’t have to waste your time searching for peace in the world of counterfeits. Jesus offers the real thing; it’s perfect, authentic and genuine. He offers peace that gives comforting assurance that He has everything under control even when you are in the midst of chaos. So choose to let God be your source of true peace. There is no substitute for the real thing.
If you are without the peace of God today, let His word bring comfort and encouragement to your heart and mind: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” - John 14:27.
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” - John 16:33.
