The burn ban that was issued in Crawford County Dec. 7 has been canceled, according to a news release from Crawford County Judge Dennis Gilstrap.
The ban was issued due to a lack of precipitation and high winds for many days. Because of recent precipitation, the current conditions are sufficient to reduce the risk, and the burn ban has been canceled.
The burn ban may be reissued if more precipitation is not received soon. However, the county asks all residents who wish to burn to take extra precautions because the conditions that caused the ban to be issued can change in a short time.
