The Barling Board of Directors learned more about the city water and sewer system during its regular meeting Tuesday.
Barling Public Works Director Steve Core briefed the board on the Barling 2016 water and sewer audit report provided by Bill Boyd of Thomas Gammill & Co. Core said the city had a good, clean audit, with the same issues it always has. This included not having enough total people for separation of powers.
Core said there is also a bond fund account the city needs to catch up, which he described as a "periodic thing."
"The assets that we had on hand, the depreciation and the money and the accounting and we're in good shape, ..." Core said. "As Bill says, it's a pleasure to audit us because we have it laid out when it gets here."
The board of directors voted to accept the audit.
The board also voted to approve an ordinance changing the date of the next December regular meeting from Dec. 26 to Dec. 19.
