Bruce Ambrose Lee, 83, of Riverside, Calif. passed away at Raincross Care Center on Nov. 23, 2017.
Born in Old Town, Maine to Florence and William Lee on Nov. 2, 1934, the family moved to Arkadelphia in 1942.
After graduating Arkadelphia High School, he attended Little Rock Junior College where he played football. He married Nilane Allen and had two children, Gloria and Bruce Allen.
While working for Ryan Aeronautical Company, he became involved with the International Union. He went on to be UAW Local Union President, UAW Staff Member, Regional Director, and International Executive Board Member. A 35-year career.
He was the Founder and Chairman of the UAW Labor Employment and Training Corp. (UAW-LETC) from 1984 to present. He received numerous local and state legislature resolutions.
He attended the Carter and Clinton Inaugurals. Was a Democratic Party Activist, Delegate, Central Committee and DNC member from JFK to Clinton campaigns.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; Florence and William Lee, his wife; Nilane A. Lee, and daughter; Gloria Fiorello.
He is survived by his son; Bruce Allen Lee and wife Henryetta Preito-Lee of Riverside, Calif., grandchildren; Michael Fiorello, Elizabeth Fiorello and Ana Catherine Fiorello all of Layton, Utah and Christopher Lee of San Diego, Calif., sisters Connie Garrett of Arkadelphia and Hope A. Kingrey of Little Rock, brother; Terry M. Lee of Smackover, step-granddaughters; Henryetta Andrade, Stefanie Varela and Ann Marie Pereida, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Celebration of life will be at the UAW-Region 5 Union Hall in Pico Rivera on Sunday, Dec. 17 at 1 p.m.
