Tyler Chance Woods, 19, of Delight has been charged in the Clark County Circuit Court for sexual indecency with a 14-year-old child.
According to the report, a report to the child abuse hotline was made earlier this year. The victim met with staff at the Percy and Donna Malone Child Safety Center, at which time an interview was conducted.
It was alleged that Woods engaged in sexual intercourse with the child on two occasions. The encounters allegedly occurred at a residence in Okolona between the dates of March 3-11.
During a separate interview with officials at the Clark County Sheriff’s Department, Woods allegedly admitted to knowing the victim was 14 years of age and that they had engaged in intercourse. However, the case’s affidavit states that in this interview, he claimed that it happened once.
The Class D felony carries with it a possible sentence of up to six years in prison and/or a maximum $10,000 fine.
