Vera Arnold, age 79, of Arkadelphia, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 29, peacefully at her home.
She was born April 5, 1938 in Arkadelphia the daughter of the late Clarence and Ester Cliff Howell.
She was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Vera was a beloved wife, mom, memaw, sister and friend to anyone who she met. She loved people and she especially loved her family, and everyone she met was her family. She enjoyed listening and singing to music, always humming a tune, visiting with everyone and taking care of her friends at the Plaza. Vera will be greatly missed by her immediate and extended family as well as all those that she loved as her own.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ray Arnold, one sister Mary Dixon and one brother Lewis Howell.
Vera is survived by her sons Mike Bell of Okolona and Tony (Sheila) Bell of Arkadelphia, four sisters; Wanda (Lewis) McMahan, Gracie (WC) Bunn, Amanda Deaton and Joyce (Jim) Burns, seven grandchildren; Joshua (Kelly) Bell, Sara Jane Bell, Ashley Brosh, Lindsey (Michael) Crowder, Nicole Brosh, Joey Brosh, and Mallory (Brett) Bagwell, one great-grandchild; Michaelina Bell.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Third Street Baptist Church with Bro Hollis McDermott officiating. Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.
Pallbearers are Scott Necessary, John Hardman, Randal Quillen, Michael Crowder, Joey Brosh and Brett Bagwell.
Honorary pallbearers are the staff and residents of The Plaza at Twin Rivers.
