Rescued from the Pit
Hitting the bottom of the pit was no joke for David. He tried to live according to God’s plan, but many times he found himself out of touch. He felt alone, abandoned and rejected. He yielded to sin. ---- What more can I say, David was down in the pits.
Yes, it’s true. David seemed to be buried in the pits of life. But in spite of it all, he did one thing. He turned and sought refuge from the Lord.
Is it possible that you can relate to David?
Can you testify to the fact that you’ve had your share of pit experiences?
You may be in the pit, and doesn’t know how you got there. It doesn’t matter how you got there, the good news is; God rescues those who call upon Him.
Remember my friend, the pits of life will come; they have a way of finding you. But it is during these moments, God can reveal His very best for you. So no matter how deep your pit may seem, keep climbing, keeping hoping and keep trusting, before long you will look up and see the hand of God reaching to pull you out.
David confesses this statement in Psalm 40:1-3: “He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.”
