Deaconess Classie Mae “Baby” Brownlee was born into time on June 23, 1930 in Arkadelphia, AR to the late Beirney and Celia Nowlin. On Saturday, July 15, 2017, our Heavenly Father gave Baby her heavenly wings in her 87th season of life.
Classie was a member of Greater Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Arkadelphia, AR where she was an active member serving in many positions. She worked for Vassarette Manufactory, Piggly Wiggly and retired as a personal assistant. Baby, you fought the good fight now take your rest!
Those left to cherish this beautiful lady’s life include: one sister, Betty (Hayward) Elliott of Virginia; one brother, Oliver (Lillian) Nowlin of Maryland; three daughters, Debra (James) Fuller of Virginia, Shelia Scott and Sarah Robinson both of Arkansas; four sons, Tracy (Elvalyne) Scott, Marshall Robinson , Harold (Tongela) Robinson and Elton (Gwendolyn) Grant all of Arkansas; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; twospecial daughters, Rebecca (Mark) and Jennifer (Sam) and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Services are under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home of Arkadelphia, AR. Visitation will be on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Mitchell Funeral Home from 11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Family and friends will gather at Greater Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church from 6 p.m.- 7 p.m. Funeral services will be on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Greater Pleasant Hill at 11:00 a.m. where Dr. Lewis A. Shepherd, Jr. is pastor and will serve as eulogist. Burial will be in Helms Cemetery. The online guestbook is available to sign at
