Eastern Star plans Valentine’s Event
Eastern Star Baptist Church, located on Smithton Road, will host its annual valentine's day program. "Bring A Sweetheart To Church.” Guests will be Carrie Street C.O.G and Kingdom Authority Ministries with its Pastor, Rev. Q. Radford as speaker. Everyone is invited. Rev. Marshall Allen, pastor.
Shiloh Baptist to have lunch
Shiloh Baptist Church in the Central Community will have a “finger food” lunch to celebrate Valentine’s Day on Sunday, Feb. 14, immediately following the morning services. Everyone is invited to attend.
Black History and Martin
Luther King Jr. celebration
The Ila Upchurch Corporation has scheduled the annual Black History and Martin Luther King Jr. celebration for Sunday, Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. at Ward Chapel AME Church in Prescott. This year’s program will feature participation from the young people of our area. The local theme for 2010 is “Knowledge Empowers Youth”.

There will be a Black History month community coffee at the Prescott/Nevada County Library on Thursday, Feb. 25 from 9-11 a.m.
Pastor/wife 8th anniversary
There will be a pastor and wife 8th anniversary celebration for Rev. and Sis. Louis Page, Feb. 28, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Mark Baptist Church in Prescott.
The guest speaker will be Rev. Charles Tyson and Union Grove Baptist Church and family of Bluff City.
Women in Red program
The Greater New Beginning COGIC at 251 West Second St. North in Prescott will present the Women in Red program, Feb. 14 at 2:30 p.m.
The guest speaker is Sis. Patricia Blake of Munns Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
