Foodshare Arkansas, a community food pantry, is now open at 960 Hwy 371 West in Prescott. Phone number is 887-3663. Hours of operation are Monday 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. and Friday 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. No food is given out after hours.
Please bring the following with you the day you apply: photo ID, social security numbers of all family members, current utility bill showing applicant’s name and address, and income verification on family members. This is for Nevada County and Gurdon residents.
2008 Farm Bill meeting
Farm Service Agency (FSA) in partnership with Arkansas Farm Bureau, Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Arkansas State Department of Agriculture, and University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Small Farm Program Division, is conducting public meetings to inform farm producers and agri-related business persons of the new provisions of the 2008 Farm Bill.
The meeting will held Tuesday, Nov. 25 in Hope at the University of Arkansas Experiment Station. Contact information is 777-8800, ext. 2.
Cancer Association meets monthly
The Nevada County Cancer Association monthly meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at 5 p.m. at the Nevada County Library. Anyone is welcome to come and join our organization. For more information you can contact Debbie Henderson at 887-2004.
