Wreck on I-30

Police were working two accidents on Interstate 30 this morning. This one, involving a rollover near the 68 mile marker, was the first reported and a second involved a motorcycle. See Monday's Siftings for full details.

Accident on Pine Street

Police were called to the scene of an accident on Pine Street in Arkadelphia Monday shortly after 4 p.m. Bystanders at the scene said the vehicle veered off the road, striking a rock water fall and flipping before coming to rest in a parking lot. The sole occupant was trapped inside.

Colt Ford coming to Gurdon

Colt Ford is a walking, talking, 300-pound celebration of country music and country living and he is on his way to Gurdon.

Log-A-Load held

Though no estimates were prepared at presstime Monday, scores of area logging company and lumber mill owners gathered Saturday for an annual fundraising event to benefit the Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Biking Hiking trail on tap for area

"Build it, and they will come,” Fred Phillips says of cyclists and hikers making visits to a new, four-phase trail that is under way near the Iron Mountain Spillway area. Phillips, who chairs the Clark County Strategic Plan’s tourism subcommittee, said last week that the first phase of the 30-mile trail system already has a bicycle race scheduled upon its completion.

Seussical presented by OBU

Whimsical.

That’s one of the first words that came to mind as I watched the final dress rehearsal of the OBU musical, “Seussical,” Wednesday night. The play is just short of two hours of rollicking good music and fun, and includes plenty of opportunities to laugh.
