Mildred Williams 85, of Arkadelphia, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, in a Hot Springs hospital. She was born Aug. 27, 1928, in Texarkana, the daughter of the late John and Cora Jones. Williams was a member of the Williams Temple Church of God in Christ, where she was also the first lady. She was a licensed Evangelist Missionary, District Missionary for the Prescott District and served as State Secretary for the Jurisdictional Youth Department. Missionary Mildred Williams leaves to cherish her memory with her devoted and loving husband of 60 years, Elder Paul Williams of Arkadelphia; her five sons, John Douglas Williams (Patricia), Paul Dennis Williams, both of Arkadelphia, Maurice Williams (Norma) of Mountain Pine, James E. Williams of Tulsa, Okla., and Jerry D. Williams (Jennifer) of Mesquite, Texas; one brother, Hershel Jones of Texarkana, Texas; 17 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; in-laws; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation for Missionary Mildred Williams will be held on Friday, Dec. 27, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home and family hour will be from 6-7 p.m., at Tate Temple Church of God in Christ. The final celebration and tribute of Missionary Mildred Williams will be held on Saturday, Dec. 28, at 11 a.m., in the sanctuary of Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Dr. Lewis A. Shepherd Jr., Pastor. Superintendent LeRoy Williams will be the eulogist, and Bishop Frank J. Anderson Jr., will officiate.
