More than 17,000 cans of beer were on their way to a Howard County landfill Tuesday morning after a one-vehicle rollover earlier in the day.
According to Mikki Hastings, director of Clark County's Office of Emergency Management, an 18-wheeler hauling numerous cases of Busch Lite rolled over on its side near the Gurdon exit of Interstate 30.
Hastings said the semi was en route to Texas when the accident occurred. The driver of the vehicle was unharmed, but the beer he was hauling was deemed non-consumable.
According to Hastings, officials with the state's Alcoholic Beverage Control and Department of Health stood watch as the beverages were loaded up and hauled to the landfill for destruction.
