Dale A. Houser, age 93, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on July 24, 2012. He was born July 30, 1918, in Royal, the son of Joel Anderson and Gertrude Queenie Houser. He was a wonderful man with a great sense of humor. He wrote a book about his family called Houser-Chitwood Get-together. He was a Mobil Oil Consignee until his retirement. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in WWII and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Arkadelphia.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel; and three year old grandson, Eric Jackson.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice Houser of Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters, Kay Ellen Jackson of Kansas City, Mo., and Karen Dale Malcom and her husband Allen of Gurdon; two stepsons, Omar (Leah) Wehunt and Joe (Deb) Wehunt; two stepdaughters, Carolyn Whisenant and Cynthia Stahal; grandchildren, Joe, Kirk, Rheana, and Carl Jackson, Kelli Beene, Terri Borderlaun, Traci LaBeff, and Shea Leon; several great and great-great-grandchildren
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, July 29, at the Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with Richard Sorrels officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. till service time on Sunday.
