Ruth Simpson, 77, of Gurdon, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, in St. Joseph Mercy Medical Center, Hot Springs.

Ruth Simpson, 77, of Gurdon, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, in St. Joseph Mercy Medical Center, Hot Springs.
She was born May 25, 1932, in Vaden, daughter of Willie and Leatha Vaden Simpson. She attended Gurdon High School and was an employee of the Gurdon Public School System.  She was a member of the Church Of Living God Pillar and Ground Of Truth, Vaden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Ida S. Reed, Ivory Simpson, Gertie Simpson Willie H. Simpson and Baby Boy Simpson.
She is survived by her daughter, Maxine Simpson of Gurdon; one grandson, Jason (Deneshia) Simpson of  Fayetteville; two brothers, Willie Simpson Jr. of Sparkman and Delton Simpson of Arkadelphia; six sisters, Ruby Govan of Malvern, Dorothy Boga and Lonnie Gould of Arkadelphia, Ethel Gilliam of Sacramento, Calif.,  Willie Mae Woodson and Charlene Adams of Jaimica, New York.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m. in the Church Of Living God Pillar and Ground Of Truth with Bishop Roosevelt Pigg officiating. The burial will be in Vaden Cemetery by Williams Funeral Home, Inc.
Pallbearers will be Warner Buckley, Zerrottie Craig, Claud Dickerson, Raymond Govan, Ricky Govan, Roger Govan, Patrick Nicholson, Johnny Smith and Marcus Wright.
