Mr. Joe Dillard Chism, 61, of Prescott, died Friday, April 24, 2009, in Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.

Mr. Joe Dillard Chism, 61, of Prescott, died Friday, April 24, 2009, in Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.


He was born on Aug. 28, 1947, in Nashville, to Guy and Elsie Tallant Chism. He was a graduate of Hope High School. He was a millwright and plumber. He was a Baptist. Joe loved his family, loved to garden and share his produce with others and was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt.


He was preceded in death by his parents.


His survivors include his wife of 23 years, Pam Wicker Chism of Prescott; one daughter, Malinda Brinkmeyer and Bobby of Hope; three sons, Joseph Beavers and Rhonda of Prescott, Corey Beavers and Ashley of Gurdon and Rusty Chism and Tisha of Hope; seven grandchildren, Josie, Kelsi, Laney, Austin, Alex, Spencer and Cobey.


The graveside service was at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 28, at Caney Cemetery in Caney, with Rev. Perry Johnson officiating. The burial followed. The arrangements were by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.


The family received friends Monday, April 28, from 6-8 p.m., at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
