Sgt. Jason Jackson had just finished a 12-hour night shift, patrolling the streets of Arkadelphia as a police officer, when he heard on his police scanner that all Clark County emergency personnel were needed in Pike County to assist with a search and rescue operation.
Police were called to the scene of an accident on Pine Street in Arkadelphia Monday shortly after 4 p.m. Bystanders at the scene said the vehicle veered off the road, striking a rock water fall and flipping before coming to rest in a parking lot. The sole occupant was trapped inside.
